Vincent's Yellow

a[n] [auto]biography and a love story.

Girasol

I am in Spain now, just arrived. But before I go to sleep, I wanted to share: I had a few hours between train rides in Paris. In that time, I got to do something I had not before… take a look at your and Theo’s apartment.

Building

The building, on a curved street. You remember…

SIgn

They have a sign there now. People like to know about you…

Door

Your door, at 54 Rue Lepic. And what’s that, on the left?

Flower One

Someone left you a sunflower. You are so loved, Vincent. So very loved… It makes me breathe so deeply when I see things like this. All you gave comes back to you, and I know you feel it.

Inspired, and wanting to keep up a good idea…

Flower two

I got you a new one. Hopefully the next person who walks by will want to be part of the cycle.

Apartment sky

I know you are watching, it was a beautiful last day in Paris. Thank you for the sky. I know you looked at it often…

Basel Exhibition

Went to Basel, Switzerland today to see the AMAZING Van Gogh exhibit of seventy paintings at the Kunstmuseum.

I spent 5 hours there straight without a break and now I’m really, really exhausted.

And full.

And loving.

Photos to come tomorrow maybe, or else Tuesday. Tomorrow I’m trains all day to Spain…

After last night, I can tell you now without a doubt that Vincent is with me… He got me home.

Auvers

Turns out his grave was more than I could reasonably take.

Turns out I love him like he is alive.

Turns out Auvers-sur-Oise is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, with one of the most exquisite churches I have ever seen.

That is all for now, I hope you will forgive me, readers, I am emotionally exhausted. Too much to do, too much to write, too much feeling…
